The unique design of the Y and B series plates ensures that non-adherent cells are maintained in a fixed focal plane during the course of the experiment (even during flow).

This is achieved by using a microfabricated elastomeric ceiling to physically hold the cells in place. The result is crystal clear images during flow that traditional methods, such as agar pads, cannot offer.
