The MiCA-Inv (M24I) microfluidic plate enables dynamic tracking of cancer invasion through 3D gel in a 96 well format. The invasion chamber is designed to mimic the in vivo microenvironment, with cells embedded in 3D ECM and a set of 8 micron pores separating the cells from continuous flow of media. Cells and gels are loaded by the user into one side of the barrier, while flow of media past the perfusion barriers allows nutrient exchange for long term culture. Solution flows from the inlet well past the cell chamber and collects in the outlet well. The flow is gravity driven and requires no external pumps, allowing the plates to be operated in a standard incubator. |
