Microfluidic Cell Array for 3D Perfusion Culture

A breakthrough microfluidic perfusion plate that enables high quality cell culture in a 3D matrix. The MiCA-3D array contains 32 independent micro-chambers designed to be user filled with an extracellular matrix (ECM). Cells can be overlayed or embedded in the gel for long term perfusion culture. Perform multiple 3D ECM experiments at a fraction of the time and cost of alternate methods. Also works with 2D culture and surface coating. Formatted to a standard 96 well plate with a #1.5 thickness glass bottom, enabling high quality microscopy. All products backed by our 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.

Key Features:

• 32 independent perfusion units
• 4 ul gel per chamber
• Perfusion 3D culture in a standard incubator
• Pipet directly into open top chamber
• #1.5 glass bottom for optimal imaging quality

Description:

The MiCA-3D (M32P) microfluidic plate enables 3D perfusion cell culture in a 96 well format. Cells and gels are directly pipette into the open top culture chamber. A microfluidic perfusion barrier with 4 micron openings prevents cells and gel from blocking the flow channels. Continuous flow of media past the perfusion barriers enhances nutrient exchange for long term culture. Solution flows from the inlet well past the cell chamber and collects in the outlet well. The flow is gravity driven and requires no external pumps, allowing the plates to be operated in a standard incubator.

MiCA-3D Plate
(a) The M32P microfluidic plate contains 32 perfusion units on a 96 well plate. (b) Each unit has a flow inlet, a 3D culture chamber, and a flow outlet. (c) The open top chamber has a 2mm diameter opening, surrounded with a microfluidic perfusion barrier, with flow from inlet to outlet.

There are many advantages for culturing cells in 3D with perfusion. The M32P was designed to be flexible for any type of cell and gel as an alternative to currently available culture methods. When compared to 2D static cultures, 3D perfused cultures show more "in vivo-like" functions, improved longevity, and altered cell biology. In most cases, cell-cell and cell-ECM interactions trigger important biological responses not seen in typical 2D static incubations. The M32P microfluidic plate offers an easy-to-use format for advanced cell culture screening.
